FiberOne champions youth empowerment through a football and scholarship initiative led by Greensprings School, while expanding unlimited fiber internet to Awoyaya, Abijo, Majek, and Sangotedo in Lagos.
An Experience Like No Other in Lagos
In Nigeria, where over 60% of the population is under the age of 25 (World Bank, 2023), youth empowerment is not a luxury, it’s a national imperative. At FiberOne, we believe in unlocking the full potential of young Nigerians by supporting what matters most: access to opportunity, education, and digital inclusion.
That’s why we partnered with Greensprings School to sponsor the Greensprings Football Camp, offering a unique blend of sports, mentorship, and scholarship opportunities to talented kids nationwide.
Held over five days, this initiative featured:
- Expert-led coaching sessions
- Live scouting by top-tier Dutch and European football clubs
- Opportunities for U-17 national team selection
- And full university scholarships for standout players
What made the program even more iconic was the on-ground presence of Victor Ikpeba, Former African Footballer of the Year, who personally mentored participants. Victor Ikpeba’s involvement elevated the experience, instilling discipline, confidence, and aspiration in the boys and girls who dream of one day going pro.
According to FIFA, sports-based youth programs can improve school attendance by 20% and reduce dropout rates by as much as 30% when paired with academic incentives. By “catching them young,” this initiative bridges sports and scholarship in a country where access is often unequal.
But we didn’t stop there.
