Wesley Girls Triumph in Nail-Biting Finale: MindsMasterz Competition Crowns First Champion

History was made at Civic Hive, Yaba, as Wesley Girls Senior Secondary School emerged victorious in FiberOne Broadband’s inaugural MindsMasterz Inter-School Competition, claiming the championship title and ₦450,000 prize in a breathtaking final round that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. 

A Victory Earned Through Brilliance and Determination

In a competition that tested knowledge across Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Current Affairs, Wesley Girls demonstrated exceptional academic prowess and teamwork, ultimately defeating Sanya Senior Grammar School by a slim 5-point margin—104 to 99—in what can only be described as one of the most intense quiz finals Lagos has witnessed.

The four-member championship team from Wesley Girls comprised: 

• Jaiyeole Fatiha Feyikemi 

• Mustapha Fridaus Kikelomo 

• Obanla Oluwasemilore Christanah 

• Nzeribe Chioma Praise 

Their combination of quick thinking, deep subject knowledge, and remarkable composure under pressure exemplified the very essence of academic excellence that MindsMasterz was designed to celebrate.

The two-day tournament brought together eight of Lagos’s brightest secondary schools, each fielding their best students in a quest for the MindsMasterz crown:

3. EIetu Odibo Senior High School – ₦150,000 (2nd Runner-up)

6. Muritala Ajadi Animashaun Community Senior Grammar School
7. Clegg Girls Senior High School
8. Birrell Avenue Senior High School 

While only three schools took home cash prizes, every participating team demonstrated impressive knowledge, sportsmanship, and the academic excellence that defines Lagos education.

The championship round was nothing short of electric. As questions spanning advanced mathematics, complex scientific concepts, and contemporary current affairs flew across the stage, both Wesley Girls and Sanya Senior Grammar School traded leads multiple times.

When the final question was answered and scores tallied, Wesley Girls had secured their historic win by just five points—a margin that speaks to both their excellence and the exceptional caliber of competition from Sanya Senior Grammar School.
